RV Roof Repair on a 1999 Fleetwood Motorhome

This 1999 Fleetwood Motorhome came into the DFW RV Roof shop ready for a major roof restoration and structural upgrade. While older motorhomes often still have plenty of life left in them, years of exposure can take a toll on the roof structure underneath the membrane. In this case, damaged wood decking needed to be replaced before the new roofing system could be installed properly.

Our team removed the compromised materials and installed new wood decking to restore a solid foundation across the roof. Starting with strong structural support is one of the most important parts of any long-term RV roof solution, especially on older coaches where hidden moisture damage can easily go unnoticed until the roof is opened up.

Once the roof structure was repaired, this Fleetwood received a professionally installed FlexArmor RV roof system. Unlike traditional rubber or rolled-on coatings, FlexArmor is a seamless spray-applied roofing system designed to eliminate seams, resist leaks, and provide long-term protection for the RV. The finished roof creates a durable, watertight barrier built for years of travel and weather exposure.

To improve comfort and ventilation inside the coach, the owner also chose to upgrade the RV with new Maxx Fans and brand-new A/C units. These additions help improve airflow throughout the motorhome while keeping interior temperatures more comfortable during travel and camping season.

Projects like this are a great example of how an older RV can be completely refreshed with the right repairs and upgrades. With new wood decking, upgraded ventilation, new air conditioning systems, and a FlexArmor lifetime no-leak roof, this 1999 Fleetwood Motorhome is back on the road with a much stronger and more reliable roof system than it had before.
