Winnebago Class A | Before & After Roof Rebuild & Replacement

This Winnebago Class A came into our Denton, Texas shop in need of extensive roof work. As the photos show, the original roof had significant deterioration that required far more than surface-level repairs.

Before

Once the existing roof material was removed, widespread water damage was uncovered throughout the decking. The wood substrate showed staining, rot, and compromised areas that would not have supported a long-term roofing solution if left unaddressed. This stage of the process highlights why visual inspections alone don’t always tell the full story with aging RV roofs.

Structural Repairs

To properly correct the issues, the damaged roof decking was fully removed and replaced with new wood decking, restoring a solid, stable foundation. This step is critical on older Class A motorhomes, ensuring the new roof system bonds correctly and performs as intended for years to come.

Roof Replacement & Upgrades

With the new decking in place, the RV received a new bonded roof system designed for strength, reliability, and long-term durability. A Maxx Fan was also installed to improve ventilation and interior airflow, enhancing comfort while maintaining a clean, integrated appearance on the finished roof.

After

The completed roof now features a smooth, uniform surface with properly sealed penetrations and a structurally sound base beneath it. This transformation not only protects the RV from future water intrusion but also extends the life of a classic motorhome that’s ready for many more miles on the road.

This before and after gallery documents the full journey, from severe underlying damage to a fully rebuilt, dependable roof system, showcasing the importance of doing the job right from the foundation up.
